landymadjay - the original lights are not going in no. unfortunately i thought of putting them back in after welding in those frames and now they wont fit.i have defender lights floating about somewhere, although the garage gremlins may have borrowed them!

ben_haynes - yes i thought that wasn't a bad idea and they dont flap about like i first thought they would. i saw how much cheviot wanted for there holders and thought....no! so started looking at alternatives

stick some lights up high were the roof is, try coloured LED's.... saves some one driving into you off road!

that is not a bad idea, im picking up a rear hoop for the cage next week so i may weld some bosses on to it to mount lights too.
is that a common occourance then?

I will have to pop up for an off road voyage in your local lanes some time soon, see what happens to my disco!

are you goin to look at making your road legal at all or just trailer it every were?

i`m on with making a ground anchor out of something the "scaffolding fairy" left for me

only thing to remember is to clean off as much of the galvanising as possible prior to welding.... it does burn remarkably well..... and if your an idiot like me and weld inside.. stinks the house out!

 :lol:what the hell! the argon will do you in by its self! an alternative to welding inside is to sit in your garage with the engine running that will gas you out quicker! lol i joke mate, but yes i am aware of the galv finish.....i would like to keep as much on as possible but ill give it a going over with a flap disc before welding i think.
