--- Quote from: "Bush Tucker Man" ---I saw the pictures of Stratford-upon-Avon (or is it 'In-Avon'???) & got to thinking that it would be quite apt if the Royal Shakespear Company were performing 'The Merchant of Venice' at the moment
(Venice... canals.... water.....)
(coat-getting  )

Funnily enough it was just over a week ago I saw that performed (outdoor performance and it rained as well).

Is that out side Clappers Farm near Grazely??? If it is my caravan was stored there until November last year!! Lucky escape. Was the farm house ok? He is one of the best farmers I know. Absolute top chap. would be well gutted if his house has been flooded out.

--- Quote from: "laser_jock99" ---Had a bit of 2x2 rescuing to on the way home.
The main Coventry/Rugby road- blocked by 2x2's

I know for a fact Rover 620's can go through deeper water as I have done it. Admitedly when it gets to about 2ft then it dies from hydro lock when one panicks and puts thier foot down and water bubbles over the bonnet! I found out the hard way back in 1999 after a chap walked through and told me the wrong depth as he was walking on the bank.
Oh and dont you mean 4x2's or 2x4's which ever way round it is?

We have had some heavy rain down here in Cornwall, but NOTHING compared to the guys further up the line!
Been watching the news, and some of the reports are just jaw dropping!!! Im just amazed how a road can suddenly become submerged under seven foot of water!!!
I bet nobody is complaining about 4x4’s now, after reading how many rescues on stranded cars have been performed. Keep up the good work guys!

If you look closely at the roof of the Rover you can see the flotsam & jetsam resting on the roof where the water level was originally!!
