The thing with directional treads is that they do still work well in reverse, just that the tread pattern makes for very good self-cleaning in the forewards direction, so reversing for long distances could see a build up of muck in the treads, but they won't stop working.

i had a set of machos (like the saharas) and i thought they were very good...

Yes, grip wise I'd say mine were better than my current BFG MT :shock:
