Can i drive to the Mot garage?

(1/5) > >>

90sam:
hey all,
Was loooking for a bit of advice, my 90 has finished the engine conversion and is about ready to be mot'd and taxed. I was just wondering could i drive to the garage which is only about a mile away or will i have to tow it? Seems silly trying to get another person to tow it when it can drive etc.
Anyone know?
Cheers
Sam

jasonslaphead:
You can drive to an mot but it has to be pre booked in with the mot place and of course has to be insured ect.

BrumLee:
You are legal to drive it to and from the MOT station as long as you can have the garage confirm you have booked your vehicle in for test. HTH

hobbit:
Agreed with above, just make sure they have the registration number in their bookings book

But dont park it on the public road when you get there, get it in their yard, they should have marked spaces for mot vehicles, and make sure you tell them its not taxed

littlepow:
You can drive a vehicle with an expired or failed MOT, to and from the test station or the garage where remedial work is to be carried out.

But all journeys have to be direct, and all work has to be have been prebooked.

You will still be required to have tax and insurance for the vehicle.
