Lazy oil pump?????
« on: July 10, 2007, 13:25:09 »
Hi,
Our 2.5 td Cherokee seems to be developing a problem. When started from cold the engine is very ratterly for 8 to 10 minutes, this then goes away but the red "check engine" light comes on. Several people have looked at it and we have been told it could be a lazy oil pump. Is this fixable? If we do not fix it will the engine go soon?
  Many thanks

Well it won't get better on it's own

Have you an oil pressure guage on that model ? If so what's it saying while this is going on ?

Hi

The first post was by a mate using my name as he was having trouble getting a logon and I think his quest is more ...

Has anybody had a problem with a lazy sensor giving a false reading on the dash as the engine does have oil pressure or has anybody had any proplems with oil ways getting blocked and giving a false reading.

 :?
