Help!!!Small bird stuck?

When i drive my rangie there is a sound like a high pitched tweet coming form my car

when i put the clutch down (with the car still moving)and rev the car its not there

but let the clutch out and drive the bird is back

this has just started please HELP

Water might have got into the release bearing, turn the radio up.

Iv'e found the peoblem

the front prop uj is well and truely goosed


will change prop over tomorrow as i have a spare :roll:

I was going to say that, mines doing the same thing, apart from its now turning into a much more 'grinding metal' sound. parts are on order so should fix it. Found it by visiting the underside of it and seeing if i could shake the prop shaft, the back was sound but the front 'clonked' at both axle end and gear box. Not sure how long or hard a job it is?

Prop shaft is an easy job.  Four bolts either end.  14mm open ended spanner should do.  Sometimes you need 2 and a socket to get them all.  Hardest part is getting to all the bolts.

Remember to chock the wheels.  Without the props in, there is nothing to stop the wheels turning.

As the hand brake operates on the back end of the transfer box, without the props in, there is nothing to stop the wheels moving.  You'd be ok if you only took one out at a time, but I'd still chock the wheels to be sure.

I was just being picky as he'd said front propshaft.  Truth is often you need to spin the prop to get at all the bolts which means having a wheel off the ground.
