We all love to eat (well, it's more of a neccesity than anything)
With that in mind would it be worth creating (Tim...) a new forum, perhaps with the 'Links/Recommendations'?, for 'good grub'?

This could encompass cafes, restaurants, take-aways, truck stops, pub-food, etc..........

As you/we travel around the country wouldn't it be nice to know where to stop for food - be you on holiday, business, or simply pleasure?

Big White Sheds On Wheels have a forum for this & it's well read.

What does anyone else think?

Please if it does happen include as many details as possible'
Name
Address (or reasonable directions)
Phone number
Web-site (if they have one & you know it)
OS Map referance
Type of food served
Richard A Thackeray
Defender 110Td5 'Heritage Gone, but not forgotten
Jaguar XKR; X88 JLT, also 'gone, but not forgotten'

Yorkshire Born & Bred, and proud of it.

maybe worth splitting up the categories into the roads they are on or the counties they are in?

Even by county or road you would still have to divide down to nearest town/junction.. Could be very useful though :)

'Go Touring.com' (which is now defunct) split it up by country
England
Scotland
(and that small wet country next to the Irish Sea  )

No, they were just listed 'ad-hoc' as the outlet was added.
Admittedly a search by county would be a nice facility, but being a bit of a 'Techno-Luddite' I wouldn't know what was involved for Tim to initate a search facility.

As an aside, should comments on the relative merits of various Breweries products in any pubs listed be made?

Someone doesn't know their Left from their Right.

I was thinking of a country that's a bit further south-west, than Yorkshire. Y'know the one where the locals wear Wellies when they go 'courting', & call their girl-friends; "Baaa-bera"

Plenty of good food their though; all kinds of 'baa-snacks' in the pubs

I've set something up in the 'Recommendations' area.

Please take a look.  We'll see how it goes and if we need to change anything.

Just thought it'd be handy for everyone as they travelled around, but as always; 'One Mans Meat Is Another Mans Poison'
Even though we (the poster) might like it, a person acting on recommendation might not.
So I suppose the (approximate) phrase is; 'Caveat Emptor'
