Clutch Master Cylinder Advice?

Slave.... 30 mins max, undo pipe, unbolt the 2 bolts holding it on, slip new one in place, bolt up, re-attach pipe, bleed, cost you around £8.  Mine went last week, bleeding is a b***h, 2 man job.

Check the bottom of the flywheel housing where the plug hole is, (if there is no plug in there)and around the slave base and theres fluid coming out the chances are its the slave.

Master......dunno, never done one!!!

Well they are not to bad to do at all, take the plate at the top of the master cylinder off, the one secured with the six screws. go inside the cab & remove the lower panel that covers the pedal area, remove the six 8mm bolts 13mm head. Go back to the engine bay & remove the pipe then you can take the whole clutch box out. Change the master cylinder then re-fitting is the reverse.


as for the slave i would advise to change or check the flexi pipe as they can rub on the chassis!!! Remove the metal pipe & then undo the 2 8mm bolts (13mm head) & remove the slave, refitting is the reverse.


BLEEDING THE SYSTEM
you can do this on your own, its quite easy. make sure all the pipe unions are tight, undo the bleed nipple one full turn & top up with fluid. Jump inside & give the pedal a couple of pumps, keep topping the fluid up & let gravity take its course. then after a couple of minutes lock the nipple off, top up if required & give it a go. If it feels ok try it & make sure you have got the rod length on the master the same as the old one!!

No problem mate, i did mine the other week & it works fine now, like driving a new landy  :lol:

When changing the slave, be carefull that the rod doesn't come off the release fork cos its a bugg3r to get back on.
