Clutch Master Cylinder Advice?
Fireyred:
Hi,
Over the last few weeks it has become hard to change gear on my 90, and is now at the point of no return as cant get it in gear at all now.
I have now been informed by a reliable sorce that it is the Clutch Master Cylinder? which is good as there only around a £10.
After looking at mine I took the lid off and noticed that the pot was empty, could someone please advise me as to what fluid/lub needs to be in the pot as will need to get some for the new part???
Cheers

Clutch/Brake fluid Dot 4. :)
Fireyred:
Thanks, would you advise getting a new one and filling it or fill the old one and see how it goes?

Might as well try the old one first, but youve got to ask wheres the fluid gone??? Is the slave cylinder wet? Leaks around the pipework??
Fireyred:
Funny you should say that as just read an article about changing the Clutch Master Cylinder and it says change the Clutch Slave Cylinder also as they tend to both go at the same time. Gonna pop outside and have another look at it now.
Did notice what seemed like water in the Master Cylinder pot when I checked it, felt dampness inside, like greasy water.
How easy is it to change both? Dont mind getting my hands dirty
Cheers
