Ahh yes, damn good idea - that's the stuff that looks a bit like sandpaper, yes ?.........where do I get it from ?

Fingers:
Any good skate board shop, some sports shops have it too.

Or  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JESSUP-Premium-Skateboard-Griptape-Grip-Tape-32-x-9_W0QQitemZ260129841763QQihZ016QQcategoryZ47357QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Tons of the stuff, and dirt cheap.

what's the best thing to paint on galv with, do you need special primer, or will hammerite go straight on ?

last time I painted galv we used mordant soloution, etch primer, then top coat similar to hammerite smooth. Otherwise it seems to chip

Apart from that ..... yes pait them black  :D

SWEETY:
As Fingers said skate or some sports shops. You can get it in different sizes& is really easy to fit just cut to size or shapes you fancy then peel the backing off & stick. Had to get some for my sons  board it was12" x 30" & cost &4.50 for the sheet . When it's covered in mud just give it a scrub with a brush :D Oh nearly forgot you can get it in nearly any colour you want  :D Pink would stand out & get you noticed              sorry could'nt help it

blueboy:
