anyone here an expert on "cough" AOL connections?

we had that problem, when i clicked the icon it wouldnt work. pressed ctrl, alt, del to get the manager up and aol program was zapping all the juice. clicked end task and tried it again and was all ok. happened a few times so i blitzed the computer and not had abnother problem.......yet..........cuddling lots of wood.

when you say blitzed the computer what did you do exactly
see if this was a diesel engine i,d be fine :lol: and i could fix it

AOL9 had some fairly serious known issues with SP2, I've also heard of it being broken by Windows Update.
if you are on Broadband you might not actually need their software, its worth a look into this.

put the restore disc in and wiped the drive and started from scratch. when i first put norton a/v and firewall on this did cause aol a few problems ( dont use it now ). not had any problems yet since i done it ( as he searches for wood )..... 8-[ 8-[
i eventually got wise to computers and brought myself an external hard drive 120 gig and keep all my documents etc on it, so its only programs on the main drive so theres not alot for me to clear it all.

i just use the broadband connection , nothing else
as i found the software for the "browser" really slow
i just use IE6,
