L90OOK:
I have mine insured with NFU.  They are ok with winch & lift. Not sure about other mods though.

Priglet:
Im another with NFU, premium didn't go up when it changed to being a soft top and even went down when the soft top was stolen and replaced by a truck cab.

Was a bit disappointed with the initial offer for my motor until they said plus vat, meaning I got more than I was expecting. Paid for motor 30 days after it was stolen and remainder of policy was transferred to new vehicle. They have also let me insure a 2nd vehicle short term for a reasonable amount when I've been changing vehicles.

Very happy with both price and service - admittedly I am slightly older than 17.

07DefenderSeb:
TESCO is always worth a shot. Our Defender is £40/month as a second car. It's worth a ring i reckon.

3laner:
try norwich union on a rapid bonus policy, i have been with them for 4 years since I was 17 and now pay 450 a year on my 90

William:
Thanks guys, i went with the NFU in the end, for me(17) my dad and mom with my dad being named as the main driver was £496 with the landrover in question being an 02plate td5 van insured for £10k, what you reckon? i thort it was really good.
