Driving me Crazy -2
Dr Strangeglove:
Older folk can have bad reaction times etc but when I get stuck behind an elderly driver I think to myself what if it was my mum. I know it can be frustrating but I feel the elderly deserve a bit of tolerance. After all, they have helped make this country what it is, worked hard for a lot less dosh than people get today, and if it came to it are more likely to treat me (and you guys) with more respect than the younger generations.
I think some of the names and comments she used were disgusting and I am disappointed that ITV did not edit some of her insults from the program. Such as "do you mind if I call you an old fart" and (re ballroom dancing) "I would rather be put down at the vets".
Talking about people that are elderly like that is as discriminatory as racism. I am very disappointed with ITV. And to cap it all, I watched about 5 mins of Greatest Britons (or something like that) where the presenters were treating David Beckham as though he is some kind of god! The guy is good at he's sport (which I respect him for), but he loves doing it and is paid a nauseating amount to do it! It just shows you the people that we respect these days! ........and don't start me on the celebrities for celebrities’ sake!
Sorry to rant – but my mum and dad worked in cotton mills in naff conditions for naff pay – conditions that we would not put up with today. It seems as though because they were treated with no respect in the past we can carry on doing it now!
Once again - Sorry for the rant!

dr stangeglove has summed up things remarkably well.
I don't deny that living ina holiday area older drivers get frustrating, I do agree that a meddical should be compulsary but that is no excuse for being downright insulting.
Ofcom got a blasting last week from the 4x4 movement, lets hope that they get a repeat this week from the elderly. They may just have to cut the series early which will really show waht drivel it is.
Bob696:
I am somewhat biased against OAP drivers to be honest.
One was more than an inconveniance. He nearly killed Karen (other half) about 14 years ago. He pulled out of a driveway and she went into the side of him on here 250.
Whilst I understand that this can happen to anybody he added insult to injury by stating "He was obviously speeding" and to the police this old geezer said "Can you move him as he is holding up the traffic". This dispite at that time she had removed her helmet to be sick and her leather was being used as a pillow.
When he came to court there were 2 charges as unbeknown to us he had done the same to a car 3 days later.
He wasn't an inconvenience he was dangerous.

Perhaps someone should say to Jo Brand "Do you mind if I call you a fat cow, who used to have a sort of career, but who can now only get work on crap reality TV programmes, because you have no talent?"
