Disco 200Tdi into my 1984 110

Hi All. Im buying a very cheap 200tdi disco. It has an lt77 box too, but i have promised it to my mate. I have an lt77 box already in the beast.

How much work is it to get the 200tdi in my 110. And will it mate up to my 110's lt77 ok. Its also an escuse to do the clutch whilst im there.

I beleive there are some issues with the turbo. Bu how do you get round this?

i have a LT77 box in my 1984 90 along with a 200tdi disco engine

now my gearbox has just expired  :(   i had a chat with a trans specialists this afternoon and they said that cos my LT77 is an early one it wouldn't be able to cope with the 200tdi so i'm going to need the "Newer" LT77

they said fitting the 200tdi to my early LT77 was probably a contributing factor in my gearbox failing  :(


hope this helps, unless anyone's got any more input  ( i do hope so i'd like to know more too )

After what sort of mileage did it fail? Is yours a disco 200tdi. If so did you fit it yourself?

yes it's a disco 200tdi

no i didn't fit it ( and i find reasons every day that kick me for not doing so )

the 200tdi's been in since january and i suppose i've done a good few thousand miles, though to be fair my gearbox wasn't in tiptop condition b4 the tdi went in so the extra oomph might have been the final straw  :?
