Nuts! Fitting bigger wheels!
chaosego:
hi you need to think about the on road off road ratio if on road majority of the time stick to stock springs and all terrain tyres for the odd weekend lane ect. if its not you every day runner then hack lift mod till your hearts content.
i have a disco first ish car but had 2 inch lift kit and 265/75 colway mud tyres that was supposed to go on a 90 but sold it and put it on my disco. i am sort of wishing i had not now as it is on the road 99% of the time at the mo but looks good! fuel is down, noise is up its an auto so power in down a bit but not to bothered about that. think about what you want to do then get the tyres to go with your usage dont get sucked into lifts ect. if you 70% on road get all
/t s if 70% off road get mud terrains....simple .my future plans are to cut arches out put standard disco rims on that have had the centre turned and get some all terrains and maybe swop springs for old man emu 1 inch ish lift
relocation cones ect and see what occurs
suggs:
im running 265/75/16 with a 3inch lift arches cut etc
i have no clearance issues..
Dr Neil:
Dave's Disco from Measham is fitted with 265/75 16's,send him a PM and he will send you some pics  :)
Iain C:
Thanks for all the advice!
Suggs, lovely truck but I just don't want to get the grinder out just yet!
Chaosego, a very sensible outlook! It's not a daily ride though, it's a second/towing/toy car, so far spent 98% time onroad although I want to start using it offroad more and more.
91steven, can't see your new tyre pix in your gallery, everything else seems OK though. Wouldn't mind a look if you could re-upload!
And most importantly BigA, now you have lifted what's it like? How in depth was your lift, just springs/shocks or the whole lot? And if someone said "here, have every last penny of your cash back and revert back to standard", would you?
Iain C:
Oh well, the transformation has begun!
Now that I've had her a few months, racked up a few thousand pretty trouble free miles and now that I have 12 months ticket, the off road mods can begin!
Tonight I removed the air dam and trimmed the bumper end caps, and we now have a nice steering guard and a diff guard. 2" lift springs and 265 75s are ready to go on too! Bring on the weekend!
