give it a crack, cant be anythin too serious i wouldnt think... worst case would be heat from the transfer box, but obviously if thats the case you'll only have heat at one end? god knows... see what you find :)

has the landy got a lift ?
if it has, the u'js will be close to there max operatinng angle which wil cause excessive heat build up,
also have you checked any of the radius arm bush's ect to make sure the axle isnt floating around (up/down) which will be changing the pinion angle, which is just like lifting the landy, makes the u/j's work at funny angles

yes the landy has a 2 inch lift and i think it is well due new bushes will look into this, im just amazed that the ujs get almost to hot to touch after only 4 or 5 miles i appreciate your help and will climb under over the weekend and have a good look around ,cheers Iain

had a look under the old girl today bushes that conect radius arms to front axle are well worn this would make sense as prob has got gradualy worse over months thinking about geting it polybushed any one got an idea to how much this should cost

dont, fit std lr bushes....mine just eats genuine polybushes, so gone back to std bushes, yes they a pig to fit....but ive got a press so nerrrr :lol: :lol:
so far aint had to replace a bush in 3 months, just 2 cv's and another front prop today :roll:
