Will it fit?
Sooty:
Someone be kind to an old duffer of a Land Rover owner and tell me if a 1.6 16v multipoint injection suzuki vitara engine 1993 will fit in place of a 1990 Vitara 1590cc G16A engine?
My youngest lad is getting close to driving age and my insurance company will not insure him to drive my Defender and we have a Zuk with the bigend on number one piston knocking like a woodpecker on speed.
It looks like it has taken the crank with it and there is a 16v 1600 on ebay so will it fit or have you got a better suggestion.
Evilgoat:
You will need ECU, probobly fuel pump(filter if fitted) and possibly a return hose to the tank/pump. I would imagine its a drop in otherwise. CFi engine drops easy enough but I didnt know the was an MPFI one.
wheelspinner:
Or you could swap the bottom ends over.......i am sure Mr insurance man woud prefer a nice 8 v to a 16v.... :D

Are the engines the same block?
Can I take the head off the G16A and put it on the 16v short engine?
Sorry about all the questions but these zuks are new to me (looking forward to testing it in the sticky stuff \:D/ \:D/ )
