had a quick look under the dash of the Vitara and there's a few sockets(electrics) under there, anyone know what they're for? It doesn't have electric windows and central locking so I guess a couple could be for them, Haynes manual any good on this kind of stuff?

Big connector behind the switches to the right of the wheel is the lock/unlock for c/l Larger connector further back is the controller for the C/L, then theres two connectors in each door for the e/w and c/l.

Window controls live in the doors.

You may also have depending on your model, switches for rear wash/wipe and heated rear window, which have connectors. The haynes manual for the Vitara is a bit pish :(
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
