Hi all!
Looking at shifting from DiscoII to Grand Cherokee. Can y'all tell  me what are the main common problems y'all have found with Grands?

Thanks

Rear diff..rear diff...

Some leccy issues...ie check all is working..seats etc and ZG's apparrantly have a bizzare habit of the front headlamp glass falling out

Oh and O2 sensors may well fail around 80k...factor in @£300 to be replaced at a dealer as they will also reset the computer

Assuming you mean a WJ (1999-2004) as Disco 2 to ZG would be a backwards step.

The WJ has a stronger Dana 44 rear diff, and is fairly hassle free. Look for electrics with a mind of their own and broken rails on the front seats. The heater elements in the front seats fail too (if it's a Limited and not a Laredo). Engines are proven units, but petrol is best, if thirsty. Bear in mind that WJs have no underbody protection at all, though Jeep will happily sell you a few skid plates.

Only a backwards step as regards age, Stew. We both know what we prefer on our driveways.
