What sort of price would a series 3 lightweight be worth, as mod intended, but has a 101 v8 engine, still 24volt all mod spec engine and wiring, perfect chassis and body, any ideas?

Prices have gone down a bit over the past 12 months, but it depends on how much you want to spend, and what it needs.

If it is ready to go with an mot and no work needed, it will more than likely be in the 4 figure bracket

You can pick one up for as little as 500 or less, but be prepared to work on it for that price

I didn't think they were fitted originally with a v8 though, interesting on 24v, must be running a dropper system for the ignition circuit, not sure on that

The chassis and front bulkhead are the crucial things on a lightweight, mechanically they are the same as a series 3

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

Been and looked at the motor tonite, its solid body and chassis, runs fine, the engine is from a 24v 101 so its all military spec ignition, will clean up great

I made the mistake (in more ways than one) of selling mine for a couple of hundred quid, a few bits of tat and a hell of a lot of grief.

I was lucky with this one

Right place at the right time

Needs rear cross member and chassis pieces at back, at least one outrigger, front vent plate repair

New spring bushes I think too

Still need to get under for a proper inspection of the chassis

It was dead when I got it, but after a good battery, new plugs and dizzy cap, it runs ok

Still needs a good service, seems it was in a field for a couple of years
