Looks like the coolant leak is sorted now \:D/  RRB . 1 week and the level hasn't changed a bit.

 According to the manual the coolant comes up the block at the back to  the inlet manifold , flows to the front of the manifold and on to the rad. On my '95 4.0 the coolant ports at the back of the cylinder head are blanked off by the inlet manifold casting.
I guess that makes sure the coolant goes through the head casting rather than the inlet manifold.

 Did LR just not update the manual or have I got a mutant manifold ? The manual must have been right at some time as the valley gasket has got holes in the right place.

Range Rover Blues:
Is yours a serpentine belt engine? they did have the cooling system reworked a little.  I notice most that the heater is so much better.

3.9 1991 is the same as yours

Thought the same as you when I took my manifold off but checked part numbers (part of the casting somewhere) and its the correct one for my engine number.
