Isuzu 2.5 TD trouble

(1/2) > >>

Lord:
Has anyone else had this problem?

I have had, 3 times now, number 2 cylinder exhaust pushrod come out of the rocker..... not while running thankgod but after stopping. Only find it when starting again and the symptoms are similar to a flat battery cranking then dieing a death. Easy enough to put back but if anyone has had a similar problem what did you do?

hobbit:
could be a bent pushrod, or worn cam lobe, or cam follower if they have those, no nothing about these engines, this is just general fault finding

muddysteve:
i thought it was a frontera not a trooper if you're who i think you are

Steve

Lord:
Hello Steve....

Yes it is a Frontera.... But I never said it was a trooper.... the engine is Isuzu 2.5 TD not the other thing you get in them.....

Push rod looks straight and can't see anything obvious inside the engine. It's just a bit strange that it only does it on shutting off the engine and not running it. Going to have to whip the heads off i think and have a good look round if this happens too often and see what i can find.

Lord

muddysteve:
do they have hydraulic tappets or adjustable ones on those engines?

Steve
