Isuzu 2.5 TD trouble

<< < (2/2)

Lord:
They are hydraulic tappets but some one has susgessted a weak spring or damaged valve sticking allowing the rocker to come free from the pushrod...

I really should put a profile on here!!!!

Lord:
Eventually nailed the problem down to an injector spring being weak.... All injectors serviced and all running fine now... Also that sorted out a slight steering wobble too..... Unusual that one, but it's all good if it all works....

Manicminer:
On some of the isuzu engines you have roller bearings on the camshaft and not shells. These can wear out allowing the cam to move by a considerable amount. Usually it shows up as lack of power because the cam is moving aside instead of pushing what it's meant to. Maybe it moved sideways and let the pushrod come out?
