Disco - Insurance ..... for a 20 year old

landybear:
Hi guys and gals,

Not a technical question i know but just wondering what advice you would give me for insuring a 300Tdi Disco. As from the topic i am 20 years old and have had some stupid quotes thus far!! More than the bloody vehicle!!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Give Sureterm Direct a ring. They've given me reasonable quotes (about £70 per month) on a 300tdi Commercial, with 0 no claims (lost 2 years NCB last year :( ), and an at-fault claim within the last 12 months. With Tesco at the moment but will be switching to Sureterm once I get paid next month.

Oh, and I'm 22.

Hi mate i know how you feel i am 25 and live in a c$@p part of coventry  :( and after alot of ringing around i found ADRIAN FLUX was the cheapest and most helpful its costing me £430 fully comp for the year on my 300TDI hope this helps

landybear:
Thanks for the rapid reply. Yeah not many companies insure anything over 1.8l when your under 21. Bit of a nightmare but their we go!!

I will give them a ring. I see lots of people use Adrian Flux?? The Disco will be my second 'car' so will it knock it down or not??

Planning on putting some mods on to so guess this wont go down with any insurance company?

Oh and one last question.... what about cover whilst offroad?? is their such a thing?

narked:
Personally didn't find Adrian Flux very helpful when I tried them, although that wasn't with a Disco. Had seen their praises sung in all the fast car mags, so thought I'd give them a go with my 2.0l Sierra, when I was 19. They wouldn't get anywhere near the quote that Direct Line gave me.

Though it seems it varies from person to person!

Admittedly I also have the benefit of a nice, safe, rural postcode.
