Well I don't know who made that reccommendation Because I have a laptop with 1gb ram and it is badged as Vista Capable. Not that I will be running Vista, Well not till all the gliches, bugs and security flaws are sorted.

Here's another recommendation for Acer from me.

I've always been a Compaq and Toshiba user, but my current laptop is an Acer TravelMate 8215WLMi.  Absolutely stunning piece of kit, but it may be out of your price range a tad.

try running it, especially with office 2007..... slow isnt the word.

we had a customer who installed it on his laptop with 512 and simply got blue screen of death!!
