If it had anything to do with the environment they'd base your road tax on your emissions.

It's all a smokescreen to generate money. How does taxing us more stop us polluting - IT DOES NOT.
Just put the tax on fuel - that way, oddly, people that do 17mpg pay MORE than people who do 60mpg .... simple, and the best thing is the means to do it already exists :rolleyes:
Oh and get this .. it works in two ways, it also can be used to "pay as you go" ... the more fuel you buy, the further you can drive on UK roads. Odd but true :shock:
