What could i swap it for?...

Hello guys and girls.
I own a 3.9 Disco V8 series 1 and as much as i love it, my job is changing slightly and im doing more miles in it, towing at the same time too.
It has LPG and when im not towing i get around 200 miles on it, and a lot less whilst towing. I do try and price in fuel on the jobs i do but im hankering after a diesel now.
The thing is i've wanted a defender for a long time. I just wondered if i sold it or swapped it what defender i could get, and in what condition/spec?
I think my disco should be worth about £2500/2750.
Any ideas?

a battered shed for that kind of money defenders hold strong money for good ones have a good look around before you sell, personaly i would look in auto trader etc stay away from landrover books/clubs thay now what thay are realy worth and you might just might get lucky?

You didn't say what year your is or what mileage.
Diesels hold a premium but I know exactly where you are coming from, especially if you are towing. My LSE will do 9 to the gallon.
Thing is whilst prices of some 4x4 are dropping the Defender will be the one to beat the trend and you always pay on condition rather than age.
You'll pay for a diesel Disco/RRC too.
As an example I know of a 200TDi conversion into a RRC turbo diesel. Mint engine mind you but it's up at around £2k. If you tradeed yours against it you'd be lucky to come out with cash in your hand, so You need to look privately.

I used to use my disco for towing car transporters for a living. It has covered over 100kmiles towing cars on trailers. Mostly Minis as I used to be a mini specialist and then the odd classic car for a shipping company and then new Smarts and Mercedes. When my 3.5V8 was off the road for a short period I borrowed my mothers 300tdi Disco, it was more expensive to run than the 3.5v8 on LPG
