fitting trailer socket /wiring query

Range Rover Blues:
For waterproof boxes I use the Maplin ones with an O ring in the lid, then i fit grommets for the cable entry, i find if yo udrill a hole int he rubber just smaller than the wire it makes a good tight fit and keep water out.

I buy the terminal boxes that are designed to take Connector blocks you can buy different width boxes depending on how many connections you need to make. If I need the connection to be watertight I use silicone. much cheaper than Maplins boxes. If I think it's going to be a permanent connection I fill the full box with silicone before closing it. This way none of the wires can ever come loose.
