Gaz-M:
Well, i bought myself a Samurai at the weekend- it has a SU carb on it but it runs really terrible, wouldn't manage to climb any sort of hill- it bogs down badly!
Basically i was wanting to start all over, go back to how it was designed and then do things myself. If i get it running good as standard i'll take things from there.
Its mainly the vaccum hoses i need to know where they go as theres 2 sort of valves on the inlet each with 2 vaccum pipe fittings, and then theres another 2 outlets on the inlet itself, one which splits into 2!
So thats 7 vaccum pipes i dont have a clue where they go
Thanks for the help!

Not to p*ss on your bonfire or anything....
Most people bin the standard carb because as soon as they start going wrong they are damn near impossible to fix and whilst you may be lucky and get a good one i can bet that given a few weeks of rough treatment and it will start to go wrong.
Whereas the Su is a gem of a carb.....if i was you i would persist with the SU.Did it run ok when you got it,is the carb the correct one(should be a HIF44 with a BDL needle)......Stupid question i know its not suffering from carb icing is it?
Scoobystu is the resident SU expert may be worth a PM
Good luck if you are refitting the standard carb
