Gaz-M:
ok, if thats the views on them then ill try to sort the SU out!
Right, where do i see these codes, guess itll be stamped on the needle?
Thanks btw!
wheelspinner:
Suzukitech http://www.suzukitech.org/ have a carb section may be worth a quick look to help set it up
I think the code you are looking for is FZX1409 normally on a little plates attached to the carb, normally found on 1.3 metros and maestroes
try the codes in here http://burlen.co.uk/store.aspx
Suzukiclubuk have a section on modifying the SU vac advance this could also help with your stalling problems

Gaz-M:
Just checked, mines is an FZX 1414.
Looked it up on that link, it has:
Carburetter: FZX 1414 Total Carbs: 1
Make: Metro Model: 1000
Year: 1982 - 1982 Engine: 1000cc HLE
Set Part No: Type: HIF38
Is that my problem? The one you stated is for a 1300, mines is for a 1000!
Hmmm.... Is the HIF44 a 44mm body and HIF 38mm?
So ill at least have worse off performance than the HIF44..
wheelspinner:
If your motor is a 1300 (if its a sammy it must be) then you need the HIF44, no wonder it was running poorly...... :(
The HIF38 is for a 1 litre
nip down the scrappys and get a hif44.......
Regards
Steve
