Help Poorly Discovery....
Big Rich:
I was wondering if you might be able to help me..... :?:
My 200 Tdi Disco developed a knocking noise from the frount somewhere. Driving home (about 4 miles) it got alot worse now the steering wheel judders. #-o
I had noticed in car parks the steering was very heavy.
Do you know anywhere I could go that would fix it in time for the Mud-Club Mucky Meetup this Fri? ](*,)
Many Thanks
Rich

Off the top of my head, it sounds similar to woes a friend of mine had in his 90 when a front CV 'bought the farm'.
It's not that bad a job to change a CV, if thats what the problem actually is.
This isn't definate by any means, so see what everyone else thinks, too!
cheers

Be careful it's not a wheel bearing. If it's getting much worse quickly, the wheel could fall off, which would not be great.
Jack up each front wheel in turn and check for any play.
Big Rich:
Feel like a prat. I have found that the one wheel nut has gone and two others were loose. Not sure how as I checked them a week ago with my talque wrench. :? Think that may be the problem? Now its just the steering.
Sooty:
Don't mention torque wrenches and wheel nut to me
If anybody goes near my wheel nuts with a torque wrench they may need surgery to remove it from where it ends up.
