Range Rover Blues:

--- Quote from: "Big Rich" ---Feel like a prat.   I have found that the one wheel nut has gone and two others were loose.   Not sure how as I checked them a week ago with my talque wrench.  :? Think that may be the problem?  Now its just the steering.
--- End quote ---

Steering judder might be from the inbalance of missing a wheelnut, or from running on loose nuts (oh-err).  If not you could have done some harm, check your wheels run true and the tyres arn't damaged first.

Wanderer:
Also that it wasn't al caused by caked on mud inside the wheel. It throws wheel balancing out quite bad and could have been a factor that caused the wheel nuts to work loose.

SHERMAN TANK:
I once took a lesser motor (astra van) for a MOT the guy failed it on excess play in the front o/s ball joint.........On the way home my steering went funny i got out to find that i had forgot to tighten the wheel nuts before i went the the garage #-o ......needless to say it passed fine on return.....moral of the story.....even fully qualified MOT mechanics can cock up :D
