fairly bullet proof now they are Volkswagon owned - and also must be good as our local plod has skodas on 'unmarked' duty - and believe me they dont hang about

We have a '03' plated Fabia 1.4Mpi estate and that's been faultless throughout.
We tested a Fabia vRS a while ago & found it to be very tractable, a relaxing drive (mountains of torque for its size) & 5th Gear threw it around a track (Pembry on Anglesey??) in a faster time than a MINI-Cooper.

West Yorkshire Traffic has the Octavia vRS as well, & from what I've been told they're well-like

The engine in the Fab vRS is the same as I had in my Golf GT TDI, and my Passat Sport (the 130BHP TDi). The Passat was like hot "stuff" from a large spade, so I would imagine that the Fab is scarily quick.
I went for the Octy vRS, and went for the estate. It's got 180BHP from a 1.8 petrol turbo. Apparently, the fabia is quicker in many circumstances!

Would recommend a Skud to anyone. Very, very impressed both with the car, and the dealer support.

(Don't look now - mine's being traded in for a non-Skud when I get round to it, but don't take that to mean it's no good!)

Cheers

Ben
