Tyre pressures?
« on: November 12, 2004, 17:42:53 »
I've got some Good Years MTR's fitted 225/75's what pressure should they be  :?:

There is a reading on the side wall of each tyre, is this the correct running pressure  :?:

Cheers.

The reading on the sidewall is normally the maximum pressure.

Start with the recommended pressures for the vehicle.

A good test for your vehicle is to draw a thick line across each tyre in chalk, then drive down the road a couple of hundred metres.  (on a dry day)

You should see fairly quickly if they are over or under-inflated by how the chalk wears off.  It should wear evenly across the tread ideally.
