V8 and tesco's petrol
ukmudmaster:
my 3.9 EFI goes like a train, acceleration is great, steady cruise at 80, no problem, but......... at a steady 50-60 it holds back as if starved of fuel. I did fill up with Tesco,s unleaded, but the garage assures me their petrol is unaffected.
Any idea's ???

Thrasher:
Filled mine with Tesco fuel - still pulls like a train, and goes like stink. Not sure the V8's are so affected by the issue - was mostly french cars and vauxhalls?
Range Rover Blues:
What year is the car?
iain:
I've had problems after filling up at tesco, hesitation on gentle acceleration and some stuttering and hesitation while crusing at various speeds. However its not a consistant thing, just hope its a clogged fuel filter!
fudge:
From our garage experience, here we've changed 23 Lambda Sensors (Oxygen Sensors), and it appears that that is the component mostly affected, 15 of these are were on smart cars (we're a smart specialist)....
If your car has a sensor (i doubt) remove it, clean it with brake & clutch cleaner and some wire wool and try inserting it, we've done this to one of our cars and its ok so far....
I'm loving the fuel problem..... I have about 35 gallons of fuel that should run fine in Godzuki and my mower.... Free Laning, offroading and mowing for the next few years!
More silicone please! our best one is the bloke who's car we drained, sorted the sensor and put £ 5 of "clean" juice into just for his missus to refill at TESCO and need recovery on her way home.... apparently Tescos will be charged for her Ice Cream! :? too.
