Speeding
Garin:
I have just had to letters from the police one asking me for the details of the new keeper and one notice of intended prosecution, this is on a car I traded in in May last year, the first letter states that I am no longer the registered keeper, I sent the trade slip to the DVLA with the dealers address so they must have this on record, I wouldn't mind so much if I was getting hassled for somthing I had done but I am not impressed when it's for somebody else and I have complied with the legal requirements
Range Rover Blues:
Traders are a bit of a loophole as they don't get recorded as a keeper, so if they havn't registered it the police don't know where to look.
It's also possible someone saw it on a forecourt and nicked the identity for a ringer :o
hobbit:
You should be in the clear anyway, just got to pass the info you have onto the police, they can trace the motor through the trader you sold the vehicle too
But yes it is annoying though
Garin:
There shouldn't be a problem I was in the truck at the time, another three notice of intended prosecution arrived this week one for 63 in a 30 zone, the problem is with the DVLA, they will not inform the police of the traders name and address although they will send me a confirmation of sale that I can then forward to the police :-k
blackbob:
got a speeding ticket for the bus a week after i sold it and only just got the comfimation that im not the keeper any more so still waiting to see if i get any more police letters
good job we kept a note of his address in the wife diary when we sold it
we had it for 3 years and never got a ticket
also he is living in it full time and has a postal address at his exwifes house so will he ever get the ticket? :?
