The wider the tyre the more likely it is to float on the mud rather than cut through it to solid footing.

If you driving on pure bog then possibly... but for most purposes narrower is better.

That is a age old argument............  I like narrow as i think wide tyres skate on mud but loads of people don't agree........ :lol:

my opinion is that they will dig through the mud, whereas narrtow tyres will slice through it and if its deep then you will get stuck.


And it looks better with very wide tyres. :)

so what size is where a tyre switches from skating to sinking??   on say a defender 90.
