i dont see why people get so anoyed when other people call jeeps land rover and land rovers jeeps they are all as good as one other and go in the mud just cos 1 jap and one isnt dosnt mean u should get anoyed with it!!

Err...

Jeep is American,  Land Rover is .. well, also American but by proxy :)

I think the "annoyance" (and I lose the term losely) is all a little tounge in cheek,  like getting coke and pepsi mixed up.

Then again, given there is a semi serious point that as all brititish 4x4s tend to get judged by the standards of their american cousins "it does 3mpg and is three hundred feet long and runs on squirrels" perhaps a little insistance at the difference might not be a bad thing ...
