Yeah, but they can get very full of crap and wear out jolly quickly :wink:

At least, that's what my other 3 seem do to, anyway :roll:

I had only replaced the rear rubber coupler once in about 3 years before lifting the suspension, it's every 6 months now  :roll:

I suspect it was a cost saving, just like those stupid plastic plugs in Disco II diffs.  Save a few pence on the build costs, and pass the cost on to the customers who keep having to replace the shoddy part.

That said, I've never had any problems with my rubber ring.  8)

Range Rover Blues:
When you replace it check that the cetre spigot is a tight fit, if it isn't a bit of a sod to put on then the centre bush needs replacing too, that's why mine lasted less than a year :roll:

It was starting to tear though, pattern part :?

Fitted a GKN this time, had the prop balanced too, perfect now :D


BTW, is anyone 100% sure which way round the rubber ring goes, does it crush the thick bits or the thin bits?
