Calculate your 'carbon footprint'

Okay over 100 miles my Hilux releases 40Kg!
What does your 4x4 do?
v8kenny:
Load of b8ll8cks that site - takes no account whatsoever of the fact that my V8 110 is 21 years old and therefore I have saved a huge amount of emissions by not changing the car for a new one every three years as a lot of people do
I could leave it running 24/7 and it still wouldnt catch up - except I couldn't afford the petrol to do this !
Devon-Rover:
They don't have an option for the Series IIA land Rover. So i guess i'm carbon nuetral then
sleeplessparadise:
They dont have the option for a defender 90 hard top either :(
V8MoneyPit:
I like the 'if you took public transport......' bit. Particularly the 'up to.....' part.
I assume that means it is likely to increase your carbon footprint in most circumstances because the bus or train only has three passengers on it  And of course, there is the 7 mile taxi journey (each way, so 28 miles assuming I want to go home again!) to get me to the nearest railway station or bus route
As already said, what a load of spheroids. Can people really be so gullible as to take this sort of stuff as gospel?
There was an e-mail from a viewer of BBC Breakfast the other morning. The viewer was boasting about his carbon footprint...... His wife drove a Prius (!!!) and got 50mpg out of it....... err, is that all??? Most small cars do 40mpg anyway. And they don't have banks of batteries manufactured and to be disposed of in 5 years time. And the best bit...... he drove an electric car that produced zero carbon emissions  Err, really???! Why isn't he the richest man in the world? He must have invented a perpetual motion machine.
It appears there *are* people gullible enough to believe this drivel.
