The Downside of a Cold Snap

I had a stone chip that was filed and then 4 years later driving into work on a cold morning 4 days before the re-mot test the damn screen cracked from left to right. £60 of my own money to fill in chip and £50 excess on insurance for new screen. I am only 3rd party F&T and I am covered on ins for windscreen so worth looking into.
