The Downside of a Cold Snap
Skibum346:
Typical... whilst loving the visit of MR & Mrs Snowman I'm now gutted that I've had to add another maintenance task to the list.
I've been carrying two stone chips in the windscreen for nearly a year now but this cold snap has turned them into wandering cracks... both drivers side, one top one bottom... hope they don't change direction and meet in the middle!!
What's more... I think the MOT is due so it'll need to be done soon...
Anyone out there a competent windscreen changing operative and does anyone out there have a windscreen for a 1990 V8 Disco...?

Should just be a matter of £50 excess on your insurance policy - won't affect NCB or cost of policy. Prob cheaper than buying a screen yourself. Insurers will repair it wherever your Disco is too :D

if not i have one in back garden for £40

Will be cheaper on own insurance, sometimes it costs nothing depending on who you are with. If you were near by I would have done it for you, used to glaze buses, coaches and trucks every day!! Not a job if you dont know what you are doing, one push in the wrong place and CRACK!!

As the Auto Glass ad says that the stone chips can be filled and doesnt normally cost a penny but when they crack its the £50 excess to pay.
but they will come out to where ever your car is to do it.
