The first school closures in the west midlands

my kids are at school tomorrow....if it snows tonjght, i'll be up and out at 3am on me way in to work....snow ain't stopping me....apart from that the boss knows i've got a LANDY so i've no excuse for not turning in..

I can remember the winter in the eighties. I was about 12 and had to dig a tunnel from the back door to the coal bunker to get coal in for my mother before I went to school, then walked to the bus stop through drifts high enough for us to walk on the roof of at least one car!
Then waited for the bus that was on time and it took us to school where 90% of the teachers made it too. I think the only reason we had a day off in bad weather was if the school boiler broke down.
Wouldn't happen today!

Over a year ago now was my last day there. But what I said is still true.

got a photo somewere taken out of a bedroom window in a house after a snow storm when i used to live in north wales and all you can see up the street is car ariels sticking out of the snow it was about 6 foot deep. oh the good old days. They dont have winters like they used to. Kids just dont now they are born these days. Think i am getting old and shinakal? or is it just old darn this alsimeries Or something like that :roll: SO were am i and who are you. and stop calling me sherly :wink:
