Complete and utter muppet.

I totally agree C-prog!

St Andrews Road Avonmouth, especially near the petrol station, is one of the most dangerous roads I have ever driven on! (And I've driven on a few...)

Mind you, on the flip side, wagon drivers do have to put up with their fair share of muppetry from other road users - am I just getting old, or are standards of driving REALLY slipping?

I had a transit van driver speed right up behing me on the severn bridge once. I was already overtaking cars and was in the fast lane so had nowhere to go, the transit driver was flashing me, arm out the window, mouthing obcenities etc. When I got passed the truck I pulled into the middle lane and let him passed, then his passenger threw a roll of parcel tape out the window at me and then he pulled infront and slammed the brakes on. The number on the back of the van got a call right away and the transport manager was going mad and called the driver straight away. So I accelerated to overtake him (V8 v Transit Derv, No match!) just in time to see the passenger pick the phone up and look very red faced! I looked at them and laughed and sped off!

This thread could go on forever    One of my experiences of sheer muppetry.... I was driving a steel wagon at the time in a busy town centre, I approached a zebra crossing and stopped behind the car infront as people were crossing, once the crossing was clear the car didn't move, I honked the horn but still no movement, I got out of the cab to take a look only to find there was nobody in it and it was locked!!  Had to force a cue of traffic all to reverse so I could get round it (don't say I shouldn't have stopped that close, it was a huge Scania in a small town centre street!! )

My wife saw local (large!)dust bin wagon reversing (twice) outside her office. Driver talking on mobile steering with one hand. The guys who fetch the bins are working around the truck! It is in a residential area so kids are often around too.

She noted the reg no and time, and rung the council who took all the details and said it would be taken very seriously.

Don't know what the outcome was though.

For gods sake dont start this arguement - I'm a HGV driver and some of the things that car drivers do would make ya hair curl
point in question - this morning - about -8 and frost / ice everywhere, and i am driving like im on eggshells (empty wagons dont like ice).. about 20 FEET in front a Rover decides to pull straight out - no indicayion what so ever...so he has Horn..and all 6 front lights..he immidiately pulls back in - and as i pass him i see he has a 3" square clear on his screen, and cant even see through the other windows....
