Complete and utter muppet.
Cyberprog:
Well I had an eventful afternoon. Driving through Avonmouth had an artic pull out of a side street straight in front of me, locked up the disco and slid it a bit and just missed the <edit>. Then no less than 2minutes later round the corner I have an 18tonne rigid pull out in front of me, had to brake hard for that one, but had a bit more distance to avoid him, honked the horn this time and the guy flipped me off.
Oh dear oh dear what a muppet. See he was driving a Stage Electrics wagon, and I'd just passed Stage Electrics main warehouse a moment before, quick u-turn and followed the guy into the yard, wrote down the reg, round the front then into the main office to see the transport manager. Got the guy a right bollocking I bet, but no more than he deserved for a) pulling out without looking at oncoming traffic b) taking a hand off the wheel to flip me off while going round the corner, and c) doing it in a marked vehicle 100yards from the warehouse/office.
Gah!
thermidorthelobster:
A while back I came across a branded company's van reversing the wrong way down a sharp bend on a sliproad on the A404M - the guy preferred to risk causing a major accident to driving 2 mins to the next junction and back. So I called up head office and they said they took such complaints very seriously and would look into it and call me back.
Did they hell... Probably never even spoke to the guy.
Cyberprog:
The trick with trucks is to contact VOSA and make a complaint via them :) That usually gets the companies attention when their operators license is at stake.
Cyberprog:
Indeed, I can excuse truck drivers if they are making a maneuver on the motorway for instance, or backing up, but coming out of a turning? With a discovery with it's lights on coming towards you? No excuse for missing that i'm afraid.
Range Rover Blues:
One of the accidents I have to recount when applying for insurance is when the truck in front of me at the lights reversed into Julie's Fiesta (he hadn't left enough room for on coming trucks) even thoguh I was reversing away from him. To add insult to injury it was an ADR accident repair centre recovery truck. What if someone had been crossing behind him?
Like all types of drivers there are some that get others a bad name.
