Have a little problem, all was woking OK till tonight - the pick up in the boot started to sound very loud, then after raising and lowering the suspension, it has sat on its lowest setting and refuses to move - all tell tale lights are still lighting up to indicate movement - but no joy on the raising or lowering front.. also the rear of the vehicle is now silent - but under the car is still making a noise (pump i presume - sits in a metal housing directly under the drivers seat bolted to the side of the chassis)
any ideas??????

i had that once on my soft dash 1993, in the end it was the Ecu under the seat and the main connector into the ecu was loose, i removed cleaned and reinstalled and hey presto. worth a check! but like u said the pick up in the boot started to sound very loud, it could be that!

well just had a look under the sub - and i cant see the air intake anywhere.. so loks likie having a nosey tomorrow after the doctors!!!!
anyone point me in the right direction for the air intake???

i had this problem on a Fiat Ambulance with air suspension, thew box the pump sits in, over heats as there is no air flow through it, we drilled loads of holes in front and back and a few drain holes in the bottom to allow water to get out.

or the one way valve is siezed / blocked

Air intake in rear driver's wing under the fuel filler (assuming a plastic fuel tank).  Access through the inner wing behind the subwoofer.

Yes but all you will find is a small plastic thing with some foam in it.  If you lie under the car I believe you will see the air intake pipe connected to the head of the compressor where it sticks out of the rear of the control box, try disconnecting it there (cover with an old rag before you run it.)

Also check the air reservoir for water, loosen do not remove the drain plug, don't worry the suspension will not go down.

bit late for that, been sat on - or just above - the bump stops since last night...pump was really noisy on the way to telford - lots of noise from the 'boot' area' now all we have is a 'tinkling' noise coming from the pump under the sill...really confusing me now, especially as the tell tale lights still insist it all OK  :shock:

If the pump has failed the EAS won't actually know, so it will think the system is waiting for pressure tp build.  Do the lights go out on the dash or are the up and down ones lit all the time?

P.S. the tinkling is the valves opening and closing I think, so the pump is not runnig.  It could be either the pressure switch that's stuffed or the thermal cutout on the pump, also stuffed.  If you were closer I could put it on Rovacom and tell you for definite.
