Solution....

....Buy a 110 or a 130

Not quite as cheap as a couple of seats though, i'll agree.

A bit like moving home because the oven needs cleaning.

Eeyore:
Interesting note on the Defender final-row seats. The '07 model year Defender has a substantial reinforcing plate in the wheel arch box, explicitly to accept the load of the new seats under crash. Any Defender earlier than this, doesn't have this.

The new Exmoor seats are mounted onto a substantial mechanism which does the job of the new reinforcing plate. At 400 squid a pop, the new Exmoor seats aren't cheap, but they are the only after-market seats on the market that comply with the new child and occupant seat regs when fitted to existing production tubs. Possibley worth considering.

The older design from Exmoor (which are a lot cheaper) don't comply with these regs (even if you get the ones with the seat belts). There simply isn't the structure in the seat or the tub to support the load.

Land Rover don't make a final-row, folding seat for the Defender that meet the new standards when attached to the old tub - which explains to some extent why '06 Model Year Defenders can no longer be produced in the EU.
