Could it be my coil
« on: January 28, 2007, 18:30:11 »
got a disco 3.5 v8 efi. It has just had new dissy, leads, plugs, rotorarm. It shtarted missing on lpg but ran ok on petrol now tonight when the engine was idling it just died and was a pig to start back up it took a few turns of the key to start it. and when i pull away i have to coax the revs up to about 2000rpm to pull away or it couffs and farts then dies and takes for ever to start it runs ok over about 2500 rpm but dont like it below that. Timing is spot on. only thing i did not cahnge when i did everything else was the coil so could it be that is starting to die

i have the smae model and during a service they managed to disconnect one of the small leads on the dizzy. The symptoms were hard to start and ran rough including misfiring above 2ooo. I checked plugs etc but the problem disappeard when i changed the coil.

For what they cost i would change it, touch wood thats the problem.
