Rock slider design
nishikigoi:
So your welding to the old inner face? Will this be strong enough (if it's not too rotten). My sills are OK but a need a bit of attention, I have tree bars ready to weld onto sliders so thought it was much better to mix the 2 together.
Smego:

clbarclay:
My sills (or at least the off side at this moment) are made from 100*50*3 box section and I chopped out all of the old sill because the top and outside were rotted through and i expect the bottom and inside needed it too. Sections of 3mm plate were used to make the chassis mount brackets.
Not a quick job , but is very satisfying to have a solid sill and floor :D .
My next plan is to use a length of tube as a rock/tree slider and brace it to the box section.
boss:
go look at disco parts rock sliders. i got them on mine and there bomb proof!
