Steering guard fitting
Mudmonkey:
--- Quote from: "Pete" ---Have fun getting the one on the drivers side out.
Had to grind the head off mine, then drift the bolt out, while tightening the nut to pull the bolt out.
Otherwise it's an easy job.
Pete.

Yep that bolt is a b******!!!
So remember to put copper lube on the bolts you put back in so you dont have to do it all again if you ever want it off for some reason!
Oh and use high tensile bolts! :P
muddyjames:
I must have been very lucky then as when I put my steering guard on the bolt on the drop arm thingy came out with no probs and dite for the bumper ones :D
freeagent:
agreed, that big bolt was a sod to get out, had to drift mine out with a big hammer....
put lots of grease on it when you put it all back together, and as the others said, if you replace any bolts use hi-tensile, and new nylocs...
looked at the steering guard on my disco today, it seams to have been doing its job properly as its bent upwards into a gentle arc now!!!!
Range Rover Blues:
On a lot of RRC the passenger's side has a bolt in it too, with the earth strap bolted on.
